Country Garden Chinese Restaurant in Peterborough

Wouldn't have even given it a 1 star. They delivered old dried out rice and noodles which had no flavour. The chicken balls were soggy and everything was ice cold even the sauces that are suppose to be hot were ice cold. Called to return the food right away and they told me "too bad don't come back" and then hung up on me. I tried to call back to speak to the manager to see if we could work something out but the manager was yelling in the back ground and laughed and hung up on me. Very unporfessional.

Cheap and large portion sizes. Is it the best Chinese place in Peterborough?no, But if you're super hungry and need a fix a pretty great place to go

Website not updated with current prices. The person who answered the phone was very snippy when I called back to ask why the total was so high. Very rudely told that the current owners had no access to the website to change it (and then told me in a snippy voice that I needed to visit the exact website I was on). Unlikely I will ever order again.

Poor quality of food and customer service is horrible! They never get orders right, are rude on the phone and won't do substitutions.

This is a wonderful family run business. The chicken balls are the best in the city. Always enjoy the pick up experience and great staff. Always see return customers when picking up our order.

They're at 400 Lansdowne st. East, not west. Ordered L3 (chicken balls/chicken fried rice) from the lunch menu, $5.50 + TX. Fantastic chicken, fried rice is chock full of more chicken. 2 orders ready in 10 mins. Friendly staff. Will definitely buy again!

Place is brutal. Food wasn’t the greatest. Chicken tastes funny. They charge $6 for delivery ( anything over 3 km ) Well given their location, this means pretty much all of Peterborough Will never order from there again.

Good food the combination plates are good for one person always full after just don't always get enough sweet and sour sauce though

They are fast but very greasy.Asked 3 times to substitute egg-rolls for the spring-rolls. They never did. I phones to complain and they told me to come back tomorrow we are too busy.Who the hell wants there egg rolls tomorrow.What restaurant is too busy taking new orders to fix your order. I would not recommend this restaurant to about.

Just ordered from this place and it has to be the absolute worst Chinese food I've ever had. Chicken balls aren't even balls.. the lemon chicken is massive pieces of bland chicken breast breaded to all hell. The Cantonese chow mein looks like they scraped the bottom of there garbage can for old vegetables. I spent $40 and yea the quantity is there... but I wouldn't serve this to my dog. I actually doubt he would eat it. Please avoid this place at all costs. Disgusting

I always get the combination plates. They always get my order right and good food and good prices.

Lemon chicken sauce was so sweet it should be used in desserts. Beef and broccoli, the meat was fatty and broccoli pieces had to be cut into multiple pieces to be eaten, more stalk then florets. Chicken in the fried rice was grey in spots and the onions in it were raw. Mom said the chicken balls were good, but the chicken and veggies was "different".

Being from Vancouver, this food is nothing like good Chinese food. Why can't you find good Chinese food in Ontario or Quebec?? Mr Hoes in Vancouver is the best in Canada.

Country Garden in Peterborough always has fresh food made to order. Never an issue, great staff!Can't wait for them to reopen... it's been a long wait! Craving Extra Spicy Kung Pow Chicken and noodles, yum!

If we order in, this is always our go-to! Not your average chicken balls with mostly bread and tiny chicken -- actual chicken chunks battered and deep fried to tasty perfection :)

Good value food with unique flavour

I ordered from the "special diet" menu as I am celiac, which aparently means huge chunks of flavorless broccoli and steamed shrimp for 11 bucks. Very disappointed. Had to cook myself dinner when I got home.

The portions are very large, but the quality is not to there. If you are looking for a good deal this is the place, if you want better food check out other places.
